IVF, in vitro fertilization is a method that help couples achieve a pregnancy by retrieving oocytes (eggs) from a woman’s ovary, taking them to the lab to be fertilized by spermatozoa and transferring them into the woman´s uterus (womb) to continue its development until birth.
It is mainly used when there are obstructed Fallopian tubes or severe male factors.
It is also used when other forms of therapy have been unsuccessful.
