In artificial insemination, spermatozoa previously treated in the lab to enhance motility and fertilization potencial, are placed inside the woman´s uterus to facilitate their meeting with the oocyte. It is a less complex technic than IVF but also less effective.
It can only be used if the Fallopian tubes are not obstructed.
